Volta Fair 2021 takes off with musical float

Ho, GNA – The Fifth Volta Trade and Investment Fair has taken off with a musical float through the streets of Ho.

The Fair, themed; enhancing investment opportunities, is expected to bring together the industrial community in the Region and beyond.

It was scheduled to begin on Monday, November 15, and the GNA observed exhibitors laying out their products Sunday evening.

Officials from the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), who are the lead organizers of the Fair, took part in the float.

More than 100 tents and exhibition booths have been erected at the Ho Sports Stadium, which has been busy with the activities of exhibitors and other stakeholders.

A few who spoke to the GNA expressed anticipation over this year’s event, saying the increased publicity would guarantee more success.

Rev Isaac Adzah Tettey, Regional Economic Planning Officer told the GNA that the enthusiasm among exhibitors was high.

“I believe this fair is a must-attend”, he said, adding that at least three automobile manufacturing companies were expected to make use of the event.

Mr. Daniel Dzegede, Executive Director of the Volta Development Forum, a non-political, pro Volta organization said the fair was a great opportunity for businesses in the Region and beyond.

He said the fair was a game-changer for the Region, and that with the attendance of members of the diplomatic call, Volta would enhance its access to the world of opportunities.

The Executive Director urged all to patronise the fair, and appealed particularly to the tourism community to use the occasion to enhance development within the arena.

The fair would be officially launched by Vice President Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia on Wednesday November 17.

Close to 500 exhibitors, and over 10000 visitors are expected to attend, and so are the various local Assemblies, who would be selling industrial potentials.

Business summits, sensitisation workshops, and tourist activities all form part of the two week programme.
