Railway Workers Union eulogises Dzifa Attivor

Takoradi, Nov. 17, GNA – The Ghana Railway Workers Union has eulogized the former Minister of Transport, Ms Dzifa Aku Attivor for her contribution towards the renewal of the Railway sector.

Madam Attivor, who died in the early hours of Tuesday November 16,2021, is said to have ensured the welfare of workers in the railway sector as well as gave a facelift to the sector during her tenure.

A statement signed by the General Secretary of the Union, Mr. Goodwill Ntarmah said, “If there is any Minister in the sector who really championed the course of workers in the railway, I can comfortably say that is Mum Dzifa Attivor…She stands tall”.

He noted how the late Minister left her office on foot enroute to the Ministry of Finance in 2014 to plead for an increase of 50 percent in their salaries.

Mr. Ntarmah said, “she, together with Ms Emelia Arthur, former Deputy Western Regional minister also led a delegation to the then President John Dramani Mahama to also address their low salaries”.

The Union wished her a peaceful rest in eternity.
