Accra, Nov. 16, GNA – The Office of the Head of Local Government Service (OHLGS) has urged the public to treat as scam information the message that had gained wide circulation on social media.
A statement issued in Accra by James Oppong-Mensah, the Chief Director, said the Service was not the author of the said information and had not contracted any institution or individual to do so on its behalf.
The said information claimed that “the Office of the Head of Local Government Service has officially released its second batch of posting of officers and assistants to the Service and is therefore requesting the said officers and assistants to submit copies of their original academic certificates for their appointment letters at OHLGS or nearby District Office from Friday, November 19, 2021, or call 0302677929 for enquiries.”
The statement said some desperate persons, who had collected monies from unsuspecting victims, came up with the message to assuage their incessant calls.
“The public is, therefore, urged to disregard the said information and treat it as a scam and visit its official website (www.lgs.gov.gh) for information concerning postings.
