Mfantsifokrom (W/R), Nov. 14, GNA – Dr Isaac Dasmani, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Prestea Huni-Valley, has urged candidates writing this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to remain calm as they begin on Monday, November 15.
According to him, the papers were within their standards, hence, they should not panic.
Mr Dasmani gave the advise when he interacted with some candidates at Mfantsifokrom, Bayreagya, and Golden Star Municipal Assembly schools to motivate them so they could perform better.
He reminded the candidates to read through their questions thoroughly and ensure they provide accurate answers, adding that, they should go by the rules and regulations governing the examination.
The MCE wished the candidates the best of luck and asked for God’s protection and guidance for them throughout the examination period.
He assured the candidates that the Assembly had put in place the necessary measures to ensure that they write the examination in a serene atmosphere so they could enjoy the free Senior High School programme initiated by the government to help them accomplish their dreams and aspiration.
“To encourage pupils of Mfantsifokrom Municipal Assembly School to study hard, l will sponsor the education of any pupil who comes out with good grade”, he promised.
A total of 4,677 candidates from 137 schools are expected to write the examination at 14 centers.
Out of the total, 2,394 are males and 2,283 are females while 84 of the schools are public and 53 are private.
