Kpone-Katamanso Municipal holds workshop for Assembly members

Akosombo (E/R), Nov. 26, GNA – The Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly (KKMA) has commenced a three-day workshop at Atimpoku in the Eastern Region for Assembly Members including; government appointees to upgrade their skills to administer their duties effectively.

Mr Samuel Okoe Amanquah, the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Chief Executive stated that, Assembly Members represent their various communities and it was important they were equipped with skills to perform their duties.

Mr Amnaquah said for Assembly members to perform their mandated duties they must be familiar with their codes of ethics and other relevant rules and regulations that govern their operations.

According to the MCE, Assembly Members would be able to enhance the prospects of the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly to achieve its aim by bringing development to the doorsteps of the people.

Mr Joseph Kwesi Gbeze, Presiding Member Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly expressed gratitude to the Assembly Members for attending the workshop.

He added that the Assembly Members must avail themselves and ask the relevant questions to aid them in the performance of their duties.

Mr Gbeze hinted that it was important for the Assembly Members to liaise well with the electorate, saying the three-day workshop would enhance their capacity to create good rapport with the people they serve.

The Presiding Member explained that stress management was another key area Assembly Members must focus their attention on, saying managing stress would keep Assembly Members in good health and refreshed minds to undertake their duties.

The Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly (KKMA)has 29 Assembly Members out of which 18 are elected and 11 government appointees.
