Nkwanta North DCE nominee confirmed

Kpasa (O/R) October 2, GNA – Mr Williams Nawugma Kidinang, the nominated District Chief Executive (DCE) in the Nkwanta North of the Oti Region, has been endorsed by the assembly members.

The nominee had 15 of the total votes cast, a figure that represented 68.18 per cent of the valid votes in an election conducted by the District Electoral Commission.

Seven assembly members, representing 31.82 per cent, however, voted against the nominee.

The new District Chief Executive (DCE), in his acceptance speech, thanked the president for the confidence reposed in him to serve the people of the district.

He gave assurance that he would embark on various projects initiated by the outgoing DCE for the good of the Nkwanta North.

He, therefore, called on all those who have a stake and capacity in the development of the district to eschew any personal and partisan interest and bring their competencies on board for services to improve the lives of the people.

Mr Nawugma told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that he was poised to serve with a strong team to leave a legacy in the assembly, a legacy which would be pursued to make all assembly members feel motivated to contribute to the mission and vision of the assembly.

The Oti Regional Minister, Mr Joshua Makubu, said the agenda for the development of the region would continue and thanked members for the honour.
