Castro after seven years

Takoradi, July 9, GNA – Seven years has gone by since the missing of Castro De Destroyer, a favourite Ghanaian entertainer who thrilled countrymen with sweet melodies.

On that fateful day, the music icon together with his paddy, babyjet and some cherished friends were blazing in the cool Waters of the Ada-(Aqua Safari) when the supposed unfortunate incident happened.

The controversy surrounding the disappearance since has been unending.
Many Ghanaians over the period have touted his alleged drowning as a ploy for fame while others are in total shock.

Meanwhile, seasons have passed, times exceeded and already, we have counted seven good years of his disappearance, legal opportunity to declare him a dead person by law.

Legally, after seven years of total lack of communication by an individual to his family, friends or any close associate is pronounced non-existent and wishful families can organize a funeral to crown it all.

In the meantime, a renowned Traditional Teacher in the Western Region, has described his missing as “Atofo Wu” to wit accidental death which called for certain traditional rites to be performed before burial.

Usually such disappearance or deaths, enjoins the family to call on the spirit of the departed to know his or her state and what should be done for him or her, he added.

In Castro’s state, the traditional Teacher prayed the parents to consult a medium or the spirit of their beloved son before any traditional funeral could be organised.

He added that in the event that corpses of such nature could not be brought home, body parts such as hair and nails are collected if available for burial.

After which a final funeral rites is performed and donations collected on a mat on a bare floor.

The traditional Teacher said, “Seven years is not something small, if he had relocated, someone might have seen Him bearing in mind that he is popular…his family must by now appreciate the situation”.

In the meantime, Mr. Richard Gyasi, a bouncer at the Best Western Plus has encouraged the family to come to term with the reality and organise a befitting funeral.

Castro De Destroyer, shot to fame with “Sradinam” a famous song about love and money and won many awards during his time.

Mr. Kwofie, Castro’s father said though the laws of the land stipulate that, he was dead, the family thinks otherwise.

“The laws of the land Ghana can say anything, but we cannot take that for now because if we organise a funeral now and he comes, what will we do”, he queried.
