2020/21 WPL: Electroland Ghana fulfills pledge to outstanding players

Accra, July 2, GNA – Electroland Ghana Limited, distributors of NASCO Electronic brand, has fulfilled its pledge to award the Best Coach and outstanding players at the end of the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Before the commencement of the WPL season, Electroland Ghana Ltd. announced an end of season sponsorship package, for the league and this includes, Player of the season, Top Scorer, Discovery of the season, Best Goalkeeper and Coach of the season.

At a short ceremony held yesterday at the outfit’s office in Accra, Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ Comfort Yeboah scooped the Discovery of the Year Award, Hassacas Ladies’ Grace Banwa won the Best Goalkeeper accolade, Janet Egyiri of Hassacas Ladies won the Best Defender of the Year whilst Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah took the highest goalscorer award with 17 goals after 15 matches.

For the Player and Coach of the Season, Constance Serwaa Agyemang of Berry Ladies and Yussif Basigi who won the league with Hassacas ladies after beating Ampem Darkoa Ladies 4-0 were rewarded with Ghc 4,000 and Ghc 5,000 worth of shopping vouchers. They were also given a fully paid weekend retreat at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The Marketing Manager of Electroland Ghana Limited Adiza Kubura Sadiq, reiterated her company’s continuous support to the Women’s Premier League saying, (NASCO is passionate towards this relationship with the GFA.”

The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr. Prosper Harrison Addo thanked Electroland Ghana Limited for the support and congratulated all the award winners for their input in the season.

He also encouraged the rest of the players to give off their best in the season.

Meanwhile, Accra Hearts of Oak duo, Coach Samuel Boadu, and midfielder Ibrahim Salifu also received their awards for the Best Coach and Player of the Month for May.
