Network for Assin Development supports Brofoyedur M/A Basic School

Assin-Brofoyeduru (C/R), June 27, GNA – The Network for Assin Development (NeFAD) in collaboration with Gold Star Airline, have donated 200 cement blocks and 15 bags of cement to Assin-Brofoyeduru M/A basic school in the Assin Central Municipality of the Central Region.

The donation is to rehabilitate a section of the Junior High School block that collapsed weeks ago due to a heavy downpour.

The broken part of the building exposed the children and teachers to danger, thereby affecting teaching and learning.

Mr Samuel Adobah, President of NeFAD decried the sorry state of infrastructure in the school and rallied the support of all to ensure all children had access to free quality education.

He expressed worry that school children in rural areas were deprived of quality education as a result of poor infrastructure.

Mr Adoba noted that government alone could not shoulder all the educational responsibilities of the country; hence the urgent need for non-governmental organisations, corporate bodies and philanthropists to support.

He appealed to government and other stakeholders in the education sector to note down and support students especially those in deprived areas to access to quality education.

He also charged parents and guardians to take full responsibility for the needs of their wards as future leaders and admonished the students not to engage in immoral acts.

Mr Frank Preprah, the headteacher of the school, was full of praise for NeFAD and Gold Star Airline for coming to their aid and appealed for more support to rehabilitate their Kindergarten block which is in a deplorable state.
