Entrance University Hospital organizes health screening

Accra, June 23, GNA – Entrance University Hospital, a private healthcare facility based in Accra, in collaboration with TOBINCO Pharmaceutical Limited and Entrance Pharmaceutical Limited, have organized a three-day health screening exercise for the public.

Mr Emil Opeku, the Administrator of the Hospital, speaking with the Ghana News Agency, said the event was to mark the facility’s third anniversary and give back to society.

He explained that the Entrance Month was dedicated to the promotion of quality locally manufactured drugs and other health products, to give credence to the government’s efforts at empowering local industries and promoting the patronage of made in Ghana goods and services.

Mr Opeku urged fathers and Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of regular medical check-ups to stay healthy at all times and contribute meaningfully towards societal growth and national development.

Dr D.G. Damenya, the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, said prostate cancer was currently one of the major causes of death amongst men.

He advised men to take advantage of health screening exercises for the early detection and treatment of prostate cancer to increase their life expectancy.

Nearly 300 persons were screened for various ailments, especially prostate cancer, while free drugs, medical advice and general health education were given.
