Nkroful (W/R), June 10, GNA – The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle, Mr Kwasi Bonzoh has donated assorted items to the Education Directorate for distribution to schools in the District.
The items are 5,000 pieces of nose masks, 180 dual desks, 100 hand-washing soap, seven mono desks for teachers, 100 boxes of A-4 sheets, Activity Worksheets for Basic one, two and three to enhance Radio lessons, cartons of soft drinks and biscuits.
Presenting the items to the Education Directorate, the DCE said 13 new schools were built and furnished with computers and furniture since 2017 and pledged more projects in the next four years.
Mr Bonzoh said the lack of furniture in schools had engaged the attention of the Assembly, adding that mono desks would be distributed to the schools.
The DCE announced that new uniforms would be distributed to every school child from KG to JHS form three.
Mr Bonzoh said there was a planned exchange programme for 75 basic school children and the Legon Centre for International Affairs (LECIA), who recently visited the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum at Nkroful.
He said the children would partner with LECIA to visit interesting tourist sites in Accra.
The DCE advised the school children to study very hard to benefit from companies in the area.
Receiving the items on behalf of the District Director of Education, the Public Relations Officer at the Ghana Education Service (GES) District office, Nana Akye Blay, expressed gratitude to the DCE for the commitment to good quality education delivery in the District.
He assured the DCE that the items would be distributed to the schools.
