Sylvia’s last-gasp goal gives Immigration Ladies win over Sea Lions FC

Accra, May 31, GNA – Sylvia Nelson’s last-gasp goal in the 90th minute was all Immigration Ladies FC needed to pick their first home win over visitors, Sea Lions FC in the Women’s Premier league (WPL).

The match-day 13 fixture played at the Mcdan La Town Park ended 1-0 in favor of Immigration Ladies.

When all hope was lost for both sides after a barren first half, Immigration ladies’ Nelson collected a fine cross from Leticia Zikpi at the stroke of full time to hand the homers the much sought after victory.

Both teams had some glorious chances but goalkeepers Patricia Mantey and Martha Annan came to the party to keep the scoreline barren until the 90th minute.

However, from the 70th minute, Sea Lions’ Alice Sarpong scored a fantastic goal but was ruled as side netting by the center referee, Beatrice Bekui.

The win puts Immigration ladies on eight points with Sea Lions still stuck at the bottom in the Southern Zone with two points.

Immigration Ladies would travel to face Ladystrikers whilst Sea Lions host Thunder Queens in the final WPL fixture.
