Accra, March 2 GNA – Parliament’s Appointments Committee would continue its hearing to consider three more of President Akufo-Addo’s nominees for ministerial roles.
The three nominees; Mr Simon Osei-Mensah, Ms Justina Owusu-Banahene and Mr Kwasi Adu Gyan Ministers Designate for Ashanti, Bono and Bono East respectively, are expected to appear before the Committee for vetting.
The nominees have held positions in President Akufo-Addo’s first term in office.
The first nominee to appear before the committee would be Mr Osei-Mensah, former Minister for the Ashanti Region and has been re-nominated for the same ministerial appointment.
The nominee was instrumental in championing the President’s policy in the Ashanti region.
Also, Ms Owusu-Banahene, the 51-year, old politician and educationist is the former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Sunyani Municipal Assembly.
Her nomination has been welcomed by many individuals and groups within the Sunyani Municipality and the region as a whole.
She has been described as a Unifier of the rank and file of the NPP in the Bono Region with the ability to work with all stakeholders in the Region.
Mr Adu Gyan has been nominated by President Akufo-Addo for the Bono East Regional Minister position and when approved after vetting he would be the second Regional Minister for the Bono East Region, four years after the region was created.
Mr Gyan, who is a 60-year old native of Jema in the Kintampo South is a politician and educationist.
The nominee has over 20 years of experience in Information Communication Technology in the areas of Systems Engineering and Architecture, Programming, Consulting, Training and Policy.
Mr Gyan is credited with the successful implementation of the Ghana India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, and the Ghana Multimedia Incubator Centre and initiated the ICT Entrepreneurship Project for the establishment of an ICT park for Ghana at the Tema Free Zones.
