Nkwanta South (O/R), March 11, GNA – The Krachi West District has been adjudged the best performing District in the Oti Region for the year 2020 on the District health league table.
This came as a result of interventions made by the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH), a Non-Governmental Organisation in the District and other districts in the region
The interventions included the provision of health infrastructure, increasing access to healthcare in island communities, as well as increasing access to neonatal, maternal and reproductive healthcare services.
This was made known by Dr Afreh Osei Kuffour, the Oti Regional Health Director at the 2020 annual performance review meeting.
He commended KOFIH for carrying out numerous projects aimed to ensure quality and enhance access to healthcare delivery in the area.
Dr Kuffuor disclosed that KOFIH has agreed to extend its interventions to Kadjebi District effective this year, and called on all and sundry to give them the needed support.
He lauded other organisations including World Vision International and Marie Stopes International for their tremendous contributions to improving the health needs of the people in the area.
The Director said the Health Directorate enjoyed wonderful support from these organisations, the Regional Coordinating Council, traditional authorities, a parliamentary caucus of the region among others.
He called on other organisations to come on board to help accelerate the growth of the region.
