‘Academic Diary’ commends one of Ghana’s most influential women

Kumasi, March 08, GNA – The Management of the ‘Academic Diary’ Newspaper, a pro-educational and academic journal, has lauded Mrs Theodosia W. Jackson, an educationist, for her inspirational leadership qualities.

The educationist, Co-Chair of the Jackson Institute of Innovation and Leadership (JIIL), had for several decades played no mean role in mentoring many professionals and technocrats to spearhead the country’s development in varied fields of human endeavour, according to the Management.

“On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, we celebrate you for your commitment and dedication to the cause of humanity,” a statement signed by Mr. Michael Ampong, the Managing Editor, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Kumasi noted.

The statement pointed said Mrs. Jackson, a former Headmistress of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Basic School, as well as Assistant Headmistress of Kumasi High Senior High School (SHS), had left a lasting legacy on the society.

“Your visionary leadership, sense of discipline and commitment to make education accessible to all, including; the needy and underprivileged, should serve as inspiration to Ghanaian women,” it said.

It cited the educationist’s belief in the core principles of honesty, patriotism, faithfulness and the fear of God, and her ability to impart the core values successfully into the pupils and students she had come across.

“Ghana, as a developing country, needs to immerse deeply in these norms since there can be no meaningful growth without discipline on the part of the citizenry,’ the statement emphasized.

Mrs. Jackson, a multiple award-winner, especially in the educational sector, is the co-founder of the Jackson Educational Complex (JEC), which runs many educational institutions, including; the Jackson College of Education of which she is the Principal.

The statement further recognized the educationist for her philanthropic deeds and outreach programmes, citing her donations to prison camps and motivational messages to the in-mates.

“You are indeed a role model to the Ghanaian youth. It is our hope that the younger generation of women would take inspiration from your achievements to better their lives,” it said.

The statement congratulated women for playing varied responsible roles to help advance the cause of humanity globally.

International Women’s Day, marked on March 08, every year, is an occasion to celebrate the achievements of women and raise awareness about gender equality.

The 2021 global commemoration is being observed on the theme: “Choose to Challenge”.
