Lambussie, UW/R, Feb. 21, GNA – Dr. Bakye Yelviel-Dong Baligi, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Lambussie, has donated items to the needy and vulnerable groups in the constituency.
The items included; hand sewing machines and hair dryers.
Dr Baligi speaking after the presentation ceremony at Lambussie, said it was his personal support to the needy and vulnerable members to live comfortable lives.
“Helping the needy particularly people with disability is the philosophy and principle I sincerely believe in”. He said.
“The welfare of the cripple should not be taken for granted, they were created in the likeness of God and it is therefore incumbent on us to love and care for them irrespective of their social status”, he stressed.
Dr. Baligi said, “God created us all equally, so we should endeavour to always come together to seek and provide opportunities for the development and proper functioning of the needy and marginalized”.
He called on benevolent organizations, philanthropists and individuals to emulate his gesture by contributing to the growth and development of the needy and vulnerable in the district and beyond.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr.Dumeh Salifu expressed profound gratitude to the MP for the gesture.
“We are extremely grateful for this kind gesture and it is our fervent prayer that God grants you all your heart desires” he said.
Mr Salifu prayed that “May God Almighty grant you more wisdom and knowledge to represent this constituency well in parliament”.
“For this love you have demonstrated to us, may you never lack”.
