Techiman (BE/R) Feb. 12, GNA – A vegetable and spices production and packaging company, Obapack at Tuobodom in the Techiman North District of Bono East Region has donated an anaesthetic machine worth Gh¢60,000.00 to the Abrafi Women and Children Hospital at Techiman.
The company, a subsidiary of Ghana Nuts Limited, a Techiman-based wholly Ghanaian agro-processing company presented the equipment as part of its corporate social responsibility to help the hospital meet the needs of patients in the delivery of timely but quality surgical services.
Mr. Douglas Mensah, the Operations Manager, who presented the machine on behalf of Mr. Obed Asante, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company, said the machine would also serve as an essential resource to enable the facility to perform both minor and major surgeries.
He said it would augment the services of the Holy Family Catholic Hospital also at Techiman, which is serving patients not only in the Techiman South Municipality and its environs but others from outside the Bono East Region.
Mr. Mensah said Obapack is Ghana’s first company that deals in onion, garlic and ginger production and packaging in commercial quantities, and is committed to supporting the improvement of quality health care delivery in the Bono East, Bono and the Ahafo Regions.
Dr. Kofi Amoako Gyamfi, the Medical Superintendent at the Hospital commended the company for its humanitarian gesture, saying the machine had come at the right time and it would be put to use immediately to save lives.
