Moscow, Jan. 24, (dpa/GNA) – The Kremlin says only “few” people attended protests held across Russia to demand the release of leading opposition figure Alexei Navalny.
“Many will now say that many people went to the unsanctioned actions,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian state television.
“No, few people went. Many people vote for Putin,” Peskov told the Moscow.Kremlin.Putin programme in comments published ahead of broadcast.
Peskov also criticized the US embassy in Moscow, which had published a list of meeting places for protesters and times in the run-up to the demonstrations, which he says was “direct support for breaking the law.”
