Accra, Dec. 14, GNA – Martha Bissah, Ghana’s former 800m Youth Olympic gold medalist, has received a Bachelor of Science in Business with emphasis in Management Certificate after completing four years of study at the Norfolk State University, in the United States of America (USA).
She is set to pursue her Masters Programme in Cyber Security at the same University.
In 2014, Bissah won a gold medal in the girls’ 800m race at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China.
Bissah was banned indefinitely by the Ghana Athletics Association in June 2016.
In February 2017, she won four gold medals at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor and Track & Field Championships.
In 2018, she was named the Female Athlete of the Year for the second time at Norfolk State University.
In 2019, for the second time Ghana’s golden girl was named the Female Athlete of the year at Norfolk State University, after running a time of 17 minutes and 16 seconds, to set a new championship record.
In all, the 800m runner have received 27 medals throughout her stay at the Norfolk State University. These are, eight times in MEAC Champion, three times All American champion, three times Norfolk State athlete of the year and three times outstanding performance both indoors and cross country, and three times most valuable player of the year from 2017-2019.
