Ketu South NPP Parliamentary Candidate woos voters

Aflao (VR), Dec 6, GNA- Mr David Tiahno Quarshie, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for Ketu South, has called on constituents to vote for him and the party to guarantee the prosperity of the area.

The businessman, who hopes to break the hold of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the Constituency in Monday’s general elections, said he had good policies and intentions to enhance development of Ketu South.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr Quarshie said unlike the NDC, who had taken the loyalty of the people for granted, he would work hard to serve the interest of the citizens, when given the mandate.

“Since 1992, the people of Ketu South have been giving practically all the votes to the NDC but there’s very little to show for that loyalty. I’ll appeal to us to change our voting pattern this time for a difference. I pledge to work in the interest of every citizen of Ketu South and to bring prosperity for all.”

He said as the Member of Parliament (MP), he would, among others, lobby for the construction of township roads, extension of potable water to communities, extension of rural electrification projects, provision of enough street lights to all 39 electoral areas and toilet facilities to reduce open defecation.

“I have policies to cater for all sectors including agriculture, business development, job creation, youth development, education, sports, health and welfare for the vulnerable.

There will be supply of farm equipment and inputs to farmers and to plough their farmlands at a 50 per cent subsidy. Fishers will receive support with their fishing gears. There will be “Kente Warehouse” and, logistical and financial support to revamp the kente business.

I’ll fast track signing of apprenticeship agreement for all youth who will be willing to learn a trade, provision of 2,000 computers to ICT-underequipped schools, easy access to healthcare, construction of an ultramodern sports complex and creation of a fund (MP’s Special Fund) to support Persons with Disability. All these are possible when you vote for me and the NPP.”
