GHALCA to vet candidates on Wednesday

Accra, Dec. 14, GNA – The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) will on Wednesday, December 16, vet candidates vying for various positions ahead of their polls next year.

The candidates would be vetted by Mr. Fred Pappoe former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), who would be the chairman of the Committee with Delali Seneya, the former Executive Committee member of the GFA as the Vice-Chairman.

The Committee also includes Mr. Oduro Nyarko as the Secretary with Mr. Enam Dzakpasu as a member.

The candidates would also undergo an integrity test by the election committee and have their nomination papers scrutinized by the oversight panel.

The election panel expects to ‘formally audit and declare the candidates who are eligible for the office of GHALCA.

The election has been scheduled for January 21, 2021, in Accra, would see incumbent Mr. Kudjoe Fianoo being challenged by Isaac Koomson for the position of the Chairman, whilst Vice-Chairman Alex Ackumey is also being challenged by Ebusua Dwarfs John Ansah – who is gunning for another seat on the GHALCA council after spending eight solid years as a Premier League representative.

Liberty Professionals Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Linda Ansong would contest for the position of the Treasurer against Justice Boison.

West African Football Academy (WAFA) Operations Manager, George Ofosuhene is seeking another term as a Premier League representative on the council alongside.

Chief Executive Officer of Danbort FC, Eugene Nobel Noel, and Felix Bewu of Heart of Lions will compete for one of the slots as representative of the National Division One League, whilst Eugene Jacquaye is also contesting a seat on the council against Emmanuel Opoku as a representative of Division two.

Edna Quagrin and Anita Wiredu would also be contesting for one slot on the council.
