WASHINGTON, Dec. 2, (Xinhua/GNA) – Health care personnel and residents of long-term care facilities will be the first groups to receive COVID-19 vaccines in the United States, according to a panel meeting of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Tuesday.
The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, an outside group of medical experts that advises the CDC, met virtually to decide which groups would be first in line to get the COVID-19 vaccines.
They voted 13 to 1 to recommend that both health care workers and residents of long term care facilities be first in line for any COVID-19 vaccines that get Emergency Use Authorisation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
