Washington, Nov. 5, (dpa/GNA) – Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House of Representatives, said Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden will be heading to the White House, even as no broadcaster has projected Biden to be the ultimate election winner.
“The American people have made their choice clear at the ballot box, and are sending Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House,” Pelosi, the highest-ranking Democrat in Congress, said in a letter.
“Joe Biden’s election will be historic, propelled by the votes of a record-shattering 70 million Americans – the most votes ever received by a presidential ticket in American history,” she added.
Pelosi called the election “challenging” in an apparent reference to the loss of Democratic seats in the House.
