NSA denies theft at the Accra Sports Stadium

Accra, Nov. 17, GNA – The National Sports Authority (NSA) has said it has no idea of any case of theft at the Accra Sports Stadium last Saturday, during a league match between Legon Cities FC and Berekum Chelsea.

A statement from the NSA said, “Information from the police who were in charge of security indicates that they have not received any official complaint on the matter.

“Furthermore, a preliminary briefing from the National Sports Authority’s security indicates that none of the team’s vehicles were broken into, which is also a cause for concern to us as custodians of the facility.

“That notwithstanding, we want to use this opportunity to advise safety officers of the various clubs to liaise with the security officers present in our facilities at all times, so as to ensure an incident-free event on each match day,” a statement signed by Mr. Charles Amofah Ag. Public Relations Officer of the NSA.

The NSA has thus advised all affected parties to lodge their case with the Greater Accra Regional command.

It was reported that, thieves broke into the buses of the two clubs, to steal their belongings when they were playing on the field at the Accra Sports Stadium.
