CAIRO, Nov. 11, (Xinhua/GNA) – Egyptian President, Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi held talks on Monday with British Chief of Secret Intelligence Service Richard Moore in Cairo, where they discussed regional security as well as the Libyan crisis, said the Egyptian presidency.
Sisi stressed the importance that Egypt attaches to “strengthening and enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially at the levels of security and intelligence,” Egyptian presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.
For his part, the British intelligence chief emphasized his country’s keenness on “maintaining the continuous coordination with Egypt regarding various challenges, especially in light of the developments in the Middle East, the Eastern Mediterranean and Africa,” he added.
Sisi and Moore also exchanged views on the developments of other regional issues including tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean region, as well as the crisis in Libya.
Sisi highlighted Egypt’s vision on the Libyan issue, which is based mainly on supporting political solutions, respecting Libya’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and maintaining the ongoing cease-fire in the neighboring country, according to Rady.
