Black Stars arrive in Cape Coast for AFCON qualifier against Sudan

Accra, Nov. 10, GNA – A total of 16 players of the senior national team, the Black Stars on Tuesday, arrived in Cape Coast to continue with preparations towards the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan on Thursday, November 12, at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

The Stars started preparations on Monday, with ten players but were joined by six others on Monday night for the trip to Cape Coast.

Among the invited players who made the trip to the Central Region were Captain Andre Ayew, with Jordan Ayew, Emmanuel Lomotey and Afriyie Acquah.

The rest were John Antwi, Razak Abalora, Tariq Fosu, Kwadwo Amoako, Samuel Owusu and Nicholas Opoku.

Leading the new pack of six players who joined the team on Monday night were Chelsea defender Baba Abdul Rahman, France-based duo Alexander Djiku and John Boye as well as Caleb Ekuban of Trabzonspor of Turkey, with Kotoko right back Christopher Nettey and goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi to complete the list.

Goalkeeper Richard Ofori is expected to join the squad on Tuesday afternoon for the match-day three clash.
