Some JHSs in Ho Municipal are yet to receive PPE

Ho, Oct. 5, GNA – Some Junior High Schools within the Ho Municipalities are yet to take full delivery of their Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) as students have been asked to return to school.

The President, who directed that form two students of Junior and Senior High School to return to school to continue with their academic work said the schools would be provided with COVID-19 preventive materials to stem the spread of the disease among students.

However, Mr. Victor Lawluvi, Assistant Headteacher, Methodist JHS told Ghana News Agency(GNA) that the school was yet to take delivery of the PPEs.

He said the leftover PPE provided for the JHS three students for their final Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) have been distributed for use in the interim while awaiting government’s consignment for the purpose, adding that, all the 41 students expected were present.

He said academic work would soon start and asked the students to observe the health safety protocols to avoid the spread of the disease.

Solomon Kwame Takyi, Volta Regional Chairman, Coalitions of Concerned Teachers appealed to the government to make the PPE available to the schools to enhance effective teaching and learning.

He said some students without nose marks were sent home and called for an urgent action to correct the anomaly.
