Koforidua, Oct 7, GNA – Second-year students in Senior High Schools(SHSs) have started returning to school in the various part of the country to enable them to complete their 2019/2020 academic year after six months break due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The students, who are in their second term, will be preparing to write their end of term examination.
A visit by Ghana News Agency(GNA) to Koforidua Secondary Technical Senior High School revealed that a few of the students had reported to the school, two days after the reopening.
Mr Ofori Antwi, the Headmaster of the school, said the school had received some Personal Protective items and sanitizers from the New Juaben South Municipal Education office.
He said the school has six thermometer guns, one at the main gate, the small gate, sickbay, kitchen, the administration block and the boarding house.
Mr Antwi said due to the small size of the dining hall, students took their meals in batches to help maintain the social distance protocol.
He said to ensure social distancing among the students in their classrooms, there would be 24 students in each class.
GNA observed that everybody entering the school compound was made to wash their hands and given a hand sanitizer.
All the students on the compound were in face masks.
