Security situation in Dormaa Central improves with decline in robbery

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/R), Aug. 31, GNA – Mr Drissa Ouattara, the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has described the security situation in the Municipality as calm because robbery which was a major security concern in the early part of the year reduced considerably.

He attributed the improvement to enhanced logistics allocated to the security agencies by government, arrest and prosecution of some criminals and efforts put in place by the Police and Military Commands through day and night patrols.

Mr Ouattara said this in an address at the first ordinary meeting of the Municipal Assembly that was attended by Assembly Members, chiefs, staff of the Assembly, heads of departments and security services and representatives of trade associations at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region.

He said the Assembly had decided to refurbish malfunctioning street lights and provide new lights at high risk areas before the end of December, naming beneficiary communities as Baptist Avenue, Ahantrase-Awase-Kyeremekrom Road – Police Headquarters-ABB, New Dormaa Area and Nkyenkyenkye, where petty thieves congregated at night to harass members of the public and students of the Dormaa Senior High School after their evening studies.

“Steps will be taken to extend electricity to communities without power as well,” he assured.

Mr Ouattara encouraged residents in the Municipality to be security conscious, particularly as the Election 2020 approached and report suspicious acts to the Police and to expose criminals within their localities.
