Bosomtwe District Assembly supports PWDs

Kuntenase (Ash), Aug. 17, GNA – Mr Joseph Asuming, District Chief Executive for Bosomtwe, has asked People with Disabilities (PWDs) not to allow their physical conditions to bury their God-giving talents and potentials.

He said PWDs who made good use of whatever support they receive to improve themselves and contribute meaningfully to national development were an asset to society.

It was therefore important for people with disabilities not to grief about their circumstances but use the skills, knowledge and potential they have to make meaningful contributions to national development.

Mr Asuming made the call when he presented some items to 55 PWDs in the District to support their businesses.

The items included fridges, Kente clothes, wheelbarrows, farm machines, ovens, sheep, charcoal and others.

They were purchased from the three percent share of the District Assemblies Common Fund, allocated to the PWDs, at the cost of GH¢65,465.00.

Mr Asuming charged the beneficiaries to make maximum use of the items to grow and expand their businesses to be economically self-sufficient.

Mr Adusei Amponsah, Bosomtwe District Director of Social Welfare, said PWDs when given the needed support, would contribute significantly to national development.

The items would therefore boost their morale and enhance their economic activities to be able to cater for themselves and their families.

He advised them to make judicious use of the items to justify the investment the government was making in them.
