NGO donates COVID-19 protective items to communities

Nsawam (E/R), July 2, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Mintah, the Chief Executive Director of the Ark Development Organisation says COVID-19 is real and advised the youth, especially the girls to refrain from social vices.

He asked them to abide by the health safety measures by wearing the nose masks, washing of hands and the use of hand sanitizers.

Mr Mintah gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after the Girls Not Bride (GNB), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) had donated nose marks and bags of rice to vulnerable people in some communities in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality.

Madam Hellen Attah Honesty, the Chief Executive Officer of FLOWER, an NGO, who presented the items on behalf of the GNB called on parents and guardians to desist from forcing their girls into early marriages, which sometimes led them to ill-health.

She encouraged the youth to put much focus on their education and obey their parents so that they become good future leaders in society to help build the nation.

Alhaji Nazagu Suleman, the Mamprusi Chief of Nsawam who received the items on behalf of the community expressed gratitude to the Girls Not Bride for the gesture and appealed to other philanthropic organisations to support them to protect themselves against the COVID-19 pandemic.
