Wassa East District Assembly outlines completed and on-going projects

Daboase (W/R), June 03, GNA – The Wassa-East District Assembly has outlined completed and on-going developmental projects and social infrastructure to improve upon the living conditions of people in the area.

Mr Wilson Arthur, the District Chief Executive (DCE), told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the four zones in the District have had their fair share of developmental projects to cater for the welfare of people in the communities.

In the Daboase zone, the Assembly has constructed two market pavilions; a six-unit GNPC classroom block in addition to a 12-unit classroom block by Plantations Socfinaf Ghana(PSG); the construction of a 200-bed dormitory and the continuation of a second and third phases of dormitories for the Daboase Secondary Technical school with the provision of solar power and Genset to the dormitory as they await connection to the national electricity grid; provision of water systems plus 1,000 furniture for the students.

The DCE announced the completion and furnishing of Ebukrom CHPS compound, the Sekyere Krobo Out Patient Department (OPD) and the Hemang Police station which is at roofing level; the St. Martin’s Park renovation for professional league matches.

The completion of Mpraem school building, a JHS block at Nsuta with master’s rest room and ICT center.

He also mentioned the One District One Factory (1D1F-Rubber) by Narubiz Company at Dompim to add to US$20m PSG oil palm factory; the construction of Dompim steel bridge and the Ntomirem Skill Center.

In the Anyinabrim zone, the Assembly has completed the Prato No.2 six-unit classroom block and the Essaman CHPS compound, the Enyinabrim Police Station, the Senchem market as well as ICT centers at Senchem and Essaman.

In the Ateiku zone, Mr Arthur mentioned the Ateiku market, culverts on Asatuase, Patatwumso and two on Appeasuman roads as well as opening up the road to Jimado.

Two flats Nursing Quarters at Akyempim, a CHPS compound each at Osenso and old Subri with nursing accommodation.

The Assembly has also built a-three-unit classroom block at Nsadweso with ICT and an MTN tower as well as a Kindergarten (KG) block at Asumunam.

The DCE mentioned power extension to communities such as Patatwumso, Asatuase, Gyimado, Gambia, Kwafokrom as well as the expansion of the Ateiku market.

In the Akutuase zone, the Assembly has tackled the KG block, MTN Telco tower, skill training center, Edwenase KG and Community center as well as a-six-unit classroom block at Atobiase by GNPC Foundation and the Bienuye CHPS compound.

Mr Arthur also mentioned the construction of Subriakyir steel bridge, Amponsaso JHS block with master’s room and ICT centre, Domama JHS block with a master’s room.

The DCE expressed the hope that the projects would inure to the development of the District and better the lot of indigenes in the area.
