Voting underway in the Kwadaso NPP primaries

Kumasi, June 24, GNA – Voting is underway peacefully in the NPP parliamentary primaries at the Kwadaso Constituency.
The Constituency could not hold its primaries on June 20 this year, following a dispute over the electoral album.

Mr Yaw Bonah Boadi, Kwadaso Constituency Chairman of the NPP, told the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi that, the dispute had been resolved and all the three aspirants, Constituency, Regional and National Executive had agreed on the register to be used in today’s elections.

Three contestants-Dr Kingsley Nyarko, Dr S. K. Nuamah, the incumbent MP, and Mr Vincent Frimpong are vying to represent the Constituency in Ghana’s Parliament in 2021.

Three Hundred and Ninety (390) delegates are voting in an election being supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC) in 10 electoral areas of the Constituency.

Mr Boadi said all security arrangements, including the strict adherence to all the COVID-19 preventive and restrictive protocols had been put in place to ensure the safety of the delegates and other people involved in the elections.

Kwadaso has been one of the vibrant constituencies in the Ashanti Region, increasing the electoral fortunes of the NPP in every election year.
