Kotoko Board inaugurated, as members hold first meeting

Kumasi, June 09, GNA – The new nine-member Board of Directors of Asante Kotoko S/C, has been officially inaugurated at a ceremony at the Sports Hotel, Kumasi, with an admonition to members to be committed to duty.

Mr. Kofi Badu, the Chief of Staff, Manhyia Palace, who represented the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, said the Board was expected to work assiduously to restructure the way things were done at the club.

The members, he said, ought to work with unity of purpose, dedication, and resilience, focusing primarily on the job at hand for the sustainable growth and development of the two-time African champions.

The Dr. Kwame Kyei-led Board has the responsibility to rebuild the Kotoko brand not only for its performance on the sporting field, but as a viable economic entity.

Other members of the Board include Mr. Joseph Yaw Adu, Mr. Jude Arthur, Mr. Kwamina Ansah, Mr. Kwadwo Boateng Genfi and Mrs. Evelyn Nsiah Asare.

The rest are Baffour Kwame Kusi, Otumfour’s Ankobeahene, Alhaji Abu Lamin, and Mr. Kwasi Osei Ofori.

Mr. Badu reminded the Board that the Kotoko brand was big and, therefore, the members ought to churn out innovative ways to help utilize the club’s potentials.

In a brief message, Dr. Kyei lauded the Asantehene for the confidence reposed in the new Board, assuring of their resolve to focus on the tasks ahead.
