GYER calls for strategies to maintain healthy ecosystem

Koforidua (E/R), June 9, GNA – The Ghana Young Entrepreneurs Roundtable (GYER) on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) has called on all citizens, government and non-governmental organizations, businesses and scientific institutions to strengthen national strategies to maintain healthy ecosystems.

It said such national strategies should be communicated through substantive and inclusive dialogue between all stakeholders with the youth being included.

In a statement issued to commemorate the World Environment Day, which is on the theme: “Celebrate Biodiversity”, GYER stated that it is important to be reminded that the unbridled exploitation of nature’s diverse resources and its destructive impact have resulted in a serious backlash.

The group said such actions and activities must be halted by the aggregate efforts of individual contributions in protecting life’s shield.

GYER believes that, the environment is a critical interface between health and ailment, therefore, there is an obligation on this generation to safeguard life support system and ensure its sustainable management.

“As we battle our way through this pandemic, we encourage young entrepreneurs and business leaders to adopt environmental safety protocols that ensure congenial working environment and maintain the well-being of their workforce” the statement said.
