Ho, June 23, GNA – Mrs Paulina Slyn Eworde, Akatsi North District Director of Education has commended, “Be Nice Fashion and Design Enterprise” for cleaning the compound of the Ave Dakpa Senior High, and four other schools in the District ahead of reopening after months of Coronavirus closure.
The initiative was in response to an appeal, made by the District Education Directorate to the public to help clear weeds and refuse at school compounds in readiness for reopening.
“They have helped us a lot. They are the first to take up the initiative and it’s a plus for them,” she told the Ghana News Agency in an interview, adding that most school compounds were big, and would need the help of communal effort to ready them for the reboot of academic life.
She said the Directorate was satisfied with measures by management of schools to ensure social distancing and personal hygiene.
Mrs Eworde said thousands of personal protection equipment including; facemasks, and also hand washing stations and toiletries were received from Government for distribution to students and staff.
The Director therefore encouraged parents to ensure their wards returned to school, saying, “Enough steps were taken to observe the protocols”.
Rev. Wonder Agbowoada, Chief Executive Officer of “Be Nice Fashion” said they were also sewing 100 school shorts for children in communities in Adina, and also 300 face masks for pupils in Akatsi and Aflao.
