Accra, June 6, GNA – FON Group of Companies, manufacturers of paper and tissue products, has donated essential hygiene products to the Ga East Municipal Hospital and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The items worth GH¢30.000.00 include toilet rolls, multi-purpose paper towels and tissue dispensers.
At a ceremony to present the items to the facilities, Mr William Boateng Ntim, the General Manager of FON Limited, said the donation was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
He said the donation was to also demonstrate the capacity of the manufacturing industries in Ghana to rise up to the challenge of industrialization in order to meet the growing needs of consumers in the wake of the coronavirus.
Mr Ntim said the company would continue to impact lives through skills development and job creation, while delivering quality products and services for every member of society.
Dr Emmanuel Srofenyoh, Medical Director at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, who received the donation on behalf of the hospital, described the gesture as “overwhelming and timely”, as essential hygiene products are a key part of the fight against Covid-19.
He applauded FON Limited for the donation and expressed the hope that the donation would help free up resources for the hospital and urged other philanthropists to emulate the example of the FON Group of companies.
