Fairtrade Premium Committee donates to health facilities

Accra, June 18, GNA – Fairtrade Premium Committee of the Golden Exotic Limited, has donated medical consumables and other items worth GH¢134,745.00 to three health facilities and some communities in the Shai-Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region.

The beneficiary health facilities, which received thermometers, surgical marks, hand sanitizers, surgical disposable gloves, and personal protective equipment, are Shai-Osudoku District Hospital, Army Recruits Training School Clinic and Asutuare Health Centre.

The beneficiary communities include Osuwem, Asutuare, Kasunya, Akuse, Natriku and Volivo.

Mr George Boye, the Corporate Affairs Manager of Golden Exotic Limited, who presented the items, said the donation was the company’s token contribution to help combat the coronavirus pandemic.

“We have about 2,800 workers who come from the communities and we owe it a duty to protect them,” he said.

Mr Daniel Akuffo, the District Chief Executive for Shai-Osudoku, who received the donation, expressed gratitude to the donor saying the items have come at the right time to support the health delivery efforts in the area.

Dr Kennedy Brightson, the Medical Superintendent of the Shai-Osudoku Hospital, advised the public to put on the nose masks to prevent themselves from contracting the virus.
