Accra, June 06, GNA – The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), an instrument of affiliation and affiliation agreement with Entrance University College of Health Sciences (EUCHS) to enhance partnership through institutional affiliation.
A statement issued by the KNUST, which was made available to the Ghana News Agency, said the agreement between the two institutions confers on EUCHS the right to offer a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) programme leading to a joint award of certificate with KNUST.
Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, the Vice-Chancellor, KNUST, said KNUST would exercise oversight responsibility over EUCHS particularly towards quality teaching, research, evaluations and periodic review of curricula.
He urged the affiliated institution to abide by the tenets of the affiliation agreement in order for the partnership to be a success.
Professor Obiri-Danso expressed optimism that EUCHS would become the best private institution to offer Pharm.D.
Dr Joseph Adotey, the Rector of EUCHS, expressed gratitude to the KNUST Management and promised to abide by the terms of affiliation.
Prof Obiri-Danso and Mr Andrews Kwasi Boateng, Registrar, signed on behalf of KNUST while Dr Adotey and Mr Francis Atoo Asigri, Registrar signed on behalf of EUCHS.
The MoU, which would be for an initial period of four years, would be reviewed by mutual consent.
