COVID-19: Ghana confirms 157 new COVID-19 infections

Accra, June 11, GNA- Ghana’s confirmed COVID-19 case count has increased to 10,358 following 157 new infections reported after the last update, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced.

The new infections were recorded in four regions: Greater Accra- 121, Eastern- 23, Volta- Four and Oti- nine.

The country’s recoveries also saw a jump of 69 to 3,824 from the 3,755 reported in the early hours of Wednesday.

The death toll remains at 48, leaving the country with 6,486 active cases.

Per the latest update, the Greater Accra Region continues to be the epicenter of the virus in the country, accounting for more than 60 per cent of the total case count, and with a confirmed case tally of 6,642.

The Ashanti Region follows with a case count of 1,799 with no new infections reported since the last update.
Western and Central regions follow in that order with 778 and 539 cases, respectively.
