Sege MP donates to local Zongo communities

Sege (GAR) May 26, GNA – Mr Christian Corletey Otuteye, Member of Parliament for Sege in the Greater Accra Region, has donated food and sanitary items to Muslims in the Zongo communities within his constituency.

The items which included bags of rice, bottles of cooking oil, hand sanitizers and facemask, were distributed to beneficiaries in Sege, Koluedor, Matserkope, Luhuor, Akplabanya among others.

A special package of rice, sugar, cooking oil, facemasks and hand sanitizers was also presented to an old lady at Bonikope, the only Muslim in that community.

Mr Otuteye told the Ghana News Agency that he initiated the annual presentation when he became the MP in 2013 adding that this year’s activity was special due to the addition of hand sanitizers and face masks.

He said he also used the donation to educate and remind the Muslims and other residents that the Covid-19 virus was real therefore the need for them to strictly observe all health protocols in their everyday activities.

The MP indicated that he and his team also presented an Infrared (Gun) thermometer, face masks, hand Sanitizers, and liquid soaps to the Sege Polyclinic in fulfillment of a request management of the facility made to his office when he presented some personal protective equipment to the facility.

He also distributed hand sanitizers and facemasks to okada riders, drivers and residents in the communities.
