Saki chief donates items to the aged and vulnerable

Saki ( GAR), May 05, GNA – The Chief of Saki Nmlitsakpo, Nii Tetteh Oglie II, has donated food items to the aged and vulnerable in his traditional area to help cushion them against hardships in the wake of COVID-19.

Four hundred and sixteen aged and vulnerable persons received the items which included rice, oil, and canned tomato puree.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Saki, a community in the Kpone Katamanso Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Oglie noted that in times like this, traditional leaders could serve as a backbone to their residents by supporting in whatever ways they could.

He said the aged and vulnerable where also part of the community and that their needs must be considered by all well to do residents.

The Chief thanked his council of elders and some benevolent individuals for their support to the Saki Chief Palace and prayed for God’s blessing on all of them.

Nii Oglie advised residents to religiously observe the various hygiene protocols put in place by the government to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

He charged the Assembly member and Unit Committee members for the area to take charge and distribute the items according to data collected.
