NPP Parliamentary Candidate donates to widows and aged

Sefwi- Debeiso (W/N) May 12, GNA – Mr Benard Blay, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Bia West constiuency in the Western North Region has donated food items and hand sanitizers to over 100 widows and the aged in selected communities in the constituency.

The beneficiary communities made up of Debeiso, Yawmatwa, Essam, Kojoaba, Ellukrom, Asuontaa, Kwame Tawiaahkrom and Adjoafua received bags of rice, cooking oil, canned fish and hand sanitizers.

Mr Blay commended mothers across the globe especially single mothers for the role they played in the upkeep of their children and called on all to treat women with respect.

The Parliamentary Candidate also distributed 4000 nose masks to traders to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the area.

He also educated them on the need to take COVID -19 pandemic seriously and strictly adhere to the World Health Organization(WHO) and Ghana Health Services protocols which include; observing social and physical distancing, regular washing of hands with soap under running water, frequent use of hand Sanitizers and avoiding crowded places in order to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Some of the widows in an interview with the GNA, commended the Parliamentary Candidate for “remembering them” on the special day and prayed that God would grant him his heart desires.
