“My Dream Modern Plus” supports drivers to fight COVID-19

Takoradi, May 3, GNA – As part of measures to ensure the successful fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, “My Dream Modern Plus”, producers of cosmetic products in Takoradi has distributed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to drivers in the Metropolis.

The items worth hundreds of Ghana cedis include, packs of nose masks, tissue paper, gallons of liquid soap, hand sanitizers and graphical materials carrying preventive messages on the COVID-19 pandemic, were given to drivers at the various Taxi and Trotro stations in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis to support the campaign on handwashing.

Speaking at the presentation, Madam Rosaline Ahene, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of “My Dream Modern Plus” explained that the donation forms part of measures to ensure the successful fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.

She added that the donation was also to encourage drivers, passengers as well as the general public to adhere to good personal hygiene principles, especially in public places as instructed by President Nana Akufo-Addo and the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

According to Madam Ahene, the advice by the health experts on handwashing under running water and sanitizing though may seem insignificant, it was the surest way to stop the spread of the COVID-19, hence the need to support it to encourage regular adherence.

Mr. Richard Amonoo, a driver at the Takoradi-Sekondi Trotro station who received the items on behalf of the drivers indicated that they had quite a number of the Veronica buckets at vantage points for passengers to wash their hands but soaps, tissues, and nose masks were needed the more.

He commended the Management and staff of “My Dream Modern Plus” for their support and promised to make judicious use of the items to help stop the spread of the disease in the Metropolis.
