Accra, May 9, GNA – Event planning and consultancy firm, Impact Concept and Solutions (ICS) Africa, says it has redesigned its maiden event conference scheduled to take place on May 21, this year into a virtual conference.
This, it said, was to suit the needs of participants as well as observe the needed social distancing protocol outlined by health professionals as a measure to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus disease.
A statement issued by Ms Emmaline Datey, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ICS Africa and copied to the Ghana News Agency said with the novel coronavirus still lingering, the company was taking the opportunity to enlighten people, especially, event organisers on the importance of organising events, be it virtual.
Dubbed: “The Event Summit Africa 2020 (TESA)- Virtual Experience,” the conference was originally scheduled as a physical event and would be held under the theme: ”The future of the events industry in Africa: Leveraging Digital Technology for Effective Events Management.”
The statement said the the conference would present a round-up of exciting and skilled event practitioners, entrepreneurs and Information Technology (IT) professionals to address pertinent challenges confronting the continent’s vibrant event space.
It described the event as “a tool by which the continent can be empowered,” adding that Africa must leverage on the powers of digital technology in this trying time.
Outlined speakers for the maiden edition, it said, included Madam Sandra Awo Delali, Founder and CEO of Rose Petals, United Kingdom, Mr Kwamina Opoku, Founder and CEO, Reset Global Ghana and Mr Leonardo Oshiyemi, Chief Technology Officer, Hoffenheim Technologies, Nigeria.
