Accra, May 23, GNA – Unilever Ghana says it stands with Ghanaians in the fight against the spread of the COVID-19 and will support various institutions to stem the tide.
In this direction, the company has embarked on a donation programme to offer assortment of its products to institutions and organisations as a symbol of solidarity in the fight against Covid-19, the global pandemic.
The institutions, which have benefited so far, are the Ledzokuku Constituency, Tema Metropolitan Assembly, Tema Traditional Council, Osu Children’s Home, National Disaster Management Organisation, the Adenta District, Methodist Church – Achimota, the Ark Foundation and Mirio-Gh Foundation.
The other institutions are the Children and Teens in Worship Foundation, Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital, Ghana Prisons Service, The Apostolic Church – Ashiaman, Tema Manhean Polyclinic, Christ Church of Faith and the Assemblies of God Church, Faith Assembly, Nungua.
The products comprise key brilliant and BF soaps, Sunlight Powder and Dish washing soap, Glen Tea, Pepsodent, Lipton Green Tea, and Rexona Roll-on.
Mr Henry Herbert Malm, the Head of Communications and Sustainability Lead of Unilever Ghana, said this was the company’s way of bringing support to the doorstep of as many Ghanaians as possible.
He seized the opportunity to wish all Muslims a happy Ramadan and Eid-Ul-Fitr.
“Unilever Ghana implores Ghanaians to adhere to the safety and health protocols outlined and announced by the Government, and to commit, at a personal level, to keep safe always” he said.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s COVID-19 confirmed cases rise to 6,617 with 31 deaths and 1,978 recoveries, according to the Ghana Health Service.
