COVID-19: Ghana records more than 300 COVID-19 new recoveries

Accra, May 31, GNA – Ghana’s COVID-19 total recoveries have reached 2,841 after it 301 more patients recorded their second negative results after treatment, the Ghana Health Service has announced on Sunday.

The latest update from the Service also confirmed 113 new infections to bring the country’s case count to 7,881.

The new cases, the Service said, were recorded in five regions: the Greater Accra – 77; Ashanti – One; Western – 16; Central – 12; and the Western North – Two.

One more death was also recorded, bringing the death tally to 36 from the previous 35, reported in the last update on Saturday, May 30.

The country’s active case count now stands at 5,004.

Greater Accra Region remains the hotspot of the virus in the country, accounting for 5,507 out of the 7881 total.

The Ashanti Region follows with 1184 cases; Western Region with 421 cases and Central Region – 393 cases.
