Bia West DCE donates furniture to education directorate

Sefwi-Essam (WN), May 22, GNA – Mr John Koah, the District Chief Executive for Bia West District in the Western North Region, has presented 550 pieces of mono desks to the Bia West Education Directorate.

He said the District Assembly had earlier donated 400 mono desks to be distributed to basic and second cycle schools in the district.

Mr Koah, whiles presenting the furniture, commended President Nana Akufo-Addo Addo for introducing the free senior high school programme and the decentralization of the scholarship scheme which has benefited many students in the District.

He said the District Assembly was committed to augmenting government’s efforts of improving education in the District.

The DCE asked the school management committees of the beneficiary schools to take good care of the furniture and also ensure their regular maintenance.

Mr Koah asked parents and guardians to ensure their wards read their books while at home.
Mr Nathaniel Kofi Effum, Bia West District Director of Education, who received the furniture on behalf of the Education Directorate, commended the DCE and the District Assembly for their efforts to fill the furniture gaps in the District.

He expressed gratitude to the DCE for the donation since it would help improve upon teaching and learning in the District.

He tasked circuit supervisors and head teachers to ensure regular maintenance of the furniture so that they would last long.
