Yonny Kulendi donates items towards fight against COVID-19

Wa, April 02, GNA – Mr Yonny Kulendi, a renowned Lawyer based in Accra has donated some Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) towards the fight against the spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic in the Upper West Region.

Dr Hafiz Bin Sslih, the Upper West Regional Minister received the fully loaded Kia truck with equipment at the forecourt of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) after the nationwide fumigation exercise on Wednesday.

Dr Bin Salih thanked Lawyer Kulendi who was recently nominated by the President to the Supreme Court, for donating towards the fight against the spread of the pandemic and described him as a great son of the region.

He called on other illustrious sons and daughters of the region to emulate Lawyer Kulendi by coming to the aid of the region in this trying times.

Dr Bin Salih noted that one-sixth of the equipment would remain at the Regional Hospital while the remaining would be sent for distribution among health facilities in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District.

Mr Naadi Imoro Sanda, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District said Lawyer Kulendi had never relented in coming to their aid any time the need arose.

He said the renowned Lawyer was currently sponsoring the construction of an Out Patient Department (OPD) for the new District Hospital to cater for the health needs of the people.

Mr Emmanuel K. Sanwuok, the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District Health Director lauded the timely arrival of the equipment especially at a time that the region had recorded one positive case of COVID-19 with 46 traced contacts.

He said the equipment were enough for distribution to all health facilities within the district and assured that they would be distributed immediately and put to good use to stop the spread of the virus in the district and the region at large.
