Western North NPP supports COVID-19 fight with PPE

Sefwi -Waiwso (W/N), April 28, GNA – The Western North Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has presented sanitary items to all the nine Constituencies in the Region to help curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

The items include, 300 Veronica buckets with stands, 200 gallons of hand sanitizers, 300 waste bins, 300 washing buckets, 10 cartons of sunlight liquid soap and 10 cartons of bar soap.

Presenting the items at the Party’s Regional Office, Mr Williams Benjamin Assuah, Regional Chairman, said the move was to complement government, district and municipal assemblies and traditional authorities’ efforts in managing the spread of the virus in the Region.

He tasked the various constituency executives to identify communities, markets and public places in need of the items.

Mr Assuah said the Regional Secretariat was soliciting financial support to procure nose and face masks to be distributed to traders, market women and drivers in order to manage the spread of the virus.

He commended President Akufo-Addo for the commitment he had shown in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Mr Assuah, further advised Ghanaians to take the fight against COVID-19 seriously and adhere strictly to the accepted protocols, which includes wearing of face mask, frequent use of hand Sanitizers, regular hand washing with soap under running water and observing social distancing so as to manage and stop the spread of the pandemic.

Mr Samuel Ebbah Boadi, Aowin Constituency Chairman and Dean of Western North Regional Constituency chairmen, commended the Regional Secretariat for the items and promised to distribute them to the various communities in the Region in order to stop the spread of the virus.

He advised residents in the Region especially residents of Juabeso District, Bia East and West as well as Aowin and Suaman Districts to adhere to the President’s directives and desist from aiding foreigners from La Cote d’voire into Ghana.
